Saitama University (SU), established in 1949, is located in a suburban area of Sakura-ku, Saitama City in Tokyo, Japan. It was formed through the merger of three institutions: Saitama Normal School, Urawa Higher School, and Saitama Youth Normal School.

Saitama University MEXT Scholarship 2025
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must have or expect to have a Master’s Degree before enrollment.
- Applicants must be a citizen of a country with diplomatic relations with the Japanese Government.
- Applicants must be under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2025.
- Applicants must have excellent academic achievements.
- Applicants should be in good mental and physical health.
- Applicants must reside outside Japan at the time of application and cannot hold Japanese nationality.
- Applicants must be able to arrive in Japan by the end of September 2025 on a date designated by Saitama University.
- Applicants must not have been awarded the Japanese Government Scholarship in the past three years.
- Proof of English language proficiency is required.
- Tuition Fees:
- The tuition fee for the PhD program at Saitama University is 535,800 yen per year for privately funded students.
