Position Overview
- Role: Call Center Representative
- Location: York, PA (540 S. George St.)
- Hours: 60 hours biweekly
- Shift: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Work Environment:
- On-site training for 3–6 months.
- Opportunity to work from home after successful completion of training.
Compensation
- Base Pay Range: $37K – $51K per year (Glassdoor estimate).
- Median Pay: $44K annually.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties:
- Handle a high volume of inbound and occasional outbound calls.
- Listen actively to identify urgent symptoms and route them to clinical staff.
- Assist customers by clarifying issues, researching solutions, and providing alternatives.
- Document information in the patient’s Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Schedule appointments and maintain accurate registration details.
- Communicate with ancillary departments (pharmacy, lab, imaging) as needed.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations by verifying patient identifiers.
Additional Duties:
- Page providers for consults when necessary.
- Maintain records and comply with department policies.
- Meet team targets for call quality and quantity.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience required.
- Preferred experience in customer service, medical office, or call center support.
Skills:
- Strong verbal communication and active listening.
- Customer-focused with adaptability to different scenarios.
- Ability to manage time and multitask efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology (to be completed within 180 days if not already familiar).
